Frequently Asked Questions

General

What is Next.js and why should I use it?

Next.js is a modern React framework that enables fast, SEO-friendly websites with excellent performance. Unlike traditional WordPress, Next.js generates static HTML pages that load instantly, giving you 90+ Lighthouse scores and better Google rankings. It's also more secure since there's no PHP or database exposed to hackers.

How long does a typical project take?

Starter websites take 1-2 weeks. Headless WordPress setups take 2-3 weeks. Headless WooCommerce takes 3-4 weeks. Complex migrations can take 3-5 weeks depending on the size and custom functionality. We provide weekly progress updates throughout.

Do I need technical knowledge to work with you?

No. We handle all the technical work. If you choose headless WordPress/WooCommerce, you'll continue using the same familiar admin panel you already know. For static sites, we can set up a simple CMS like Sanity or you can send us content updates during the support period.

What if I need changes after the project is done?

All packages include 1-3 months of post-launch support for bug fixes and minor tweaks. After that, you can add extended support with a tailored monthly estimate or hire us for specific updates on a project basis.

Headless WordPress

Can I keep using my WordPress admin?

Yes! That's the whole point of headless WordPress. You continue managing content in the WordPress admin you already know. We just replace the slow WordPress frontend with a blazing-fast Next.js frontend. Your editors won't need to learn anything new.

What happens to my plugins?

Frontend plugins (themes, page builders, caching) are no longer needed since Next.js handles the frontend. Backend plugins (SEO tools, forms, custom post types) continue working. We replicate any frontend functionality you need using modern React components.

Will my SEO be affected?

Your SEO will improve. Next.js is faster than WordPress, which Google rewards. We preserve all your URLs with 301 redirects, migrate all meta tags, and implement proper structured data. Many clients see ranking improvements within weeks.

Can I preview posts before publishing?

Yes. We set up Next.js preview mode so you can preview unpublished posts and pages before making them live, just like in WordPress.

Headless WooCommerce

Do I keep using WooCommerce for products and orders?

Yes. WooCommerce remains your backend for managing products, inventory, orders, and customers. The only change is your customers see a fast Next.js storefront instead of the default WooCommerce theme.

What about payment gateways?

Your existing WooCommerce payment gateways continue working. We also support integrating Stripe or PayPal directly in the Next.js frontend for even better checkout performance.

How do inventory updates work?

We use WooCommerce webhooks to sync inventory changes in real-time. When you update stock in WooCommerce admin, the Next.js site updates within seconds. No manual syncing needed.

Can customers still create accounts?

Yes. We implement customer accounts with login, order history, saved addresses, and wishlist functionality using WooCommerce's customer API.

Migrations

Will my URLs change?

We preserve your URL structure whenever possible. If any URLs need to change, we set up 301 redirects so old links continue working and your SEO isn't affected.

What happens to my images?

We migrate all images and optimize them to modern formats (WebP) with responsive sizes. This makes your site load faster and reduces hosting costs.

Can I test the new site before going live?

Absolutely. We deploy to a staging environment (Vercel preview) where you can test everything before we switch your domain over. We only go live after your approval.

What if something breaks after migration?

We keep your WordPress site backed up for 30 days after launch. If any critical issue arises, we can quickly fix it or revert if necessary. This has never happened, but we have the safety net.

Technical

Where will my site be hosted?

We deploy Next.js sites to Vercel or Netlify, both of which offer generous free tiers and excellent performance. Your headless WordPress/WooCommerce backend stays wherever it is now (or we can recommend better hosting).

What about forms and email?

We integrate forms using API routes with services like Resend, SendGrid, or Mailgun for email delivery. Contact forms, newsletter signups, and other forms work perfectly with Next.js.

Can I get analytics?

Yes. We can set up Google Analytics 4, Plausible, or any other analytics platform. This is included in most packages or available as an add-on with a tailored estimate for comprehensive event tracking setup.

Is Next.js secure?

Very. Next.js sites are static or server-rendered with no exposed database or PHP. There are no plugins to update or security patches to apply. Your attack surface is minimal compared to WordPress.

Pricing & Support

Are there any hidden fees?

No. Our pricing is fixed and transparent. You pay 50% upfront and 50% on delivery. The only ongoing costs are domain, hosting (usually free on Vercel), and optional extended support.

What does post-launch support include?

Bug fixes, minor content updates, performance monitoring, and answering questions about managing your site. Support duration varies by package (1-3 months included).

Can I get a refund if I'm not satisfied?

We work iteratively with staging reviews, so you see progress throughout. If you're not satisfied before final delivery, we'll revise until you are. We've never had a project that didn't successfully launch.

Do you offer payment plans?

For larger projects, we can split payments (e.g., 40% upfront, 40% at midpoint review, 20% on delivery). Contact us to discuss terms.
